In her first solo exhibition, Kate Lines presents Our Ocean is the Sky, a collection of film photographs honoring the southwest. In a place without sea, the sky becomes our ocean, endless and alive. This body of work captures the dream-like cloudscapes, terrain, and flora of the southwest. Working experimentally with her late father's film camera, the artist creates an almost abstract version of the scene driven by shifting light and color. With the desert as both memory and muse, the images rest somewhere between what is seen and what is felt.
